1. BACKGROUND
The client is a French supermarket chain specialising in DIY.
As part of the transfer of one of its largest DIY stores (>13000m2), the general management of this renowned brand wishes to call on an interim manager to both carry out this transfer (technical and human) but also to make it part of a new customer experience concept.
The priorities defined are:
- Open the new point of sale in 6 months
- Passing on the new Store to the future Manager / Member
- Integrate a new test concept oriented towards a new customer experience
2. DISPOSITION
Thanks to a solid network of managers from the WAYDEN pool, Alexandra GARNIER, Associate Director, organized a meeting with the client, in order to introduce Alan GRAND, whose career as Director of a DIY supermarket and having experienced several transfers/creations of supermarkets, proved to be in good harmony with the technical and human skills sought.
Alan GRAND has more than 25 years of experience in the GSB sector both in France and internationally. A specialist in remodeling, transfer and store creation, he knows how to lead and coordinate internal and external teams, train and pass on his skills.
3. MISSION
Reporting to the Director of Operations of the Region, Alan GRAND’s overall role is to:
- Propose a retroplanning of the implementations
- Organize site meetings
- Supervise the team of external service providers for the development
- Ensure that the detailed project budget is respected
- Collect quotes and launch purchase orders
- Recruit in relation to the organizational chart
- Arrange the transfer
4. ASSESSMENT
This mission was a great success, the criticality of which was largely based on meeting deadlines and the involvement of operational staff in the field.
