1. BACKGROUND

Our client is an industrial player in the aeronautics and defense sector with a complete expertise in metal parts through 4 trades: machining, foundry, mechanical welding, and surface treatment.

In recent years, our client has experienced unbridled growth. To optimize and support this growth, the group wishes to consolidate, harmonize and integrate certain functions of the company, including the purchasing function.

The decision was taken to recruit a Purchasing Director. While waiting for this recruitment, the general management wishes to call on an Interim Manager experienced in this function and his field of activity.

 

2. DISPOSITION

Thanks to a solid network of managers from the WAYDEN pool, and a local network developed in the South-West region, Alexandra GARNIER, Partner, organizes a meeting with the customer, by video, in order to present Alec Filippe, recently available, whose career in purchasing (and supply chain) in the aeronautics sector is perfectly suited to the skills and human qualities sought. Alec Filippe is recognized for his uprightness, his negotiation skills and also his network of partners already established in the aeronautical ecosystem at the national and international level.

 

3. MISSION

Reporting directly to the Group’s Chief Executive Officer, the mission consists primarily of:

  • Intervene on a Purchasing scope (Production & Indirect) representing an amount of €130M
  • Controlling a perimeter of about ten people directly
  • Implement purchasing strategies and focus on raw material purchases
  • Continue the mapping initiated and support the deployment of the IS on all sites
  • Be operational support for the teams in the context of supplier negotiations
  • Accelerate supplier contracting
  • Implement a supplier panel optimization plan

 

4. ASSESSMENT

Alec Filippe has brilliantly led this mission. With his experience and his established network in the aeronautics sector and what is more local, he saved our client time in the choice and contracting with his suppliers. In addition, Alec Filippe has laid a solid foundation for the implementation of a shared purchasing department within all the group’s entities. The impact of its mission is felt in every aspect of procurement, attesting to a tangible improvement in the performance and competitiveness of our client’s company.
