1. BACKGROUND

The client is the logistics and transport subsidiary of a major player in the distribution of capital goods.

In full growth, thanks in particular to the acquisition of new customers outside the group, the subsidiary’s managing director called on WAYDEN to take over the Supply Chain Operations Department in order to oversee the transport and logistics organization on 3 brand new sites in France.

The objective is twofold:

  • Takeover of the existing team of nearly 100 people and constitution of a new team of more than 200 additional people as part of the ramp-up of the business
  • Organization of all flow management processes, transport and customs recommendations

2. DISPOSITION

In less than 72 hours, thanks to a solid network of managers from the WAYDEN pool, Rémi DESSERTINE, Associate Director, organized an emergency meeting, in his Paris premises, with the client in order to present Arthur DESSALLE, recently available following the completion of a similar mission.

Throughout his career, Arthur DESSALLE has always been recognized for his ability to listen, his empathy and above all his ability to lead teams. He knows how to carry out this type of operation, in particular by his ability to remain in close proximity to the field at all times.

3. MISSION

During these 9 months of mission, Arthur DESSALLE, supported by the Associate Director WAYDEN, is carrying out five strategic projects at the same time:

  • Adaptation of the logistics master plan with the company’s General Management for all new activities
  • Creation and development of efficient logistics and transport processes
  • Supervision of teams on all 3 warehouses
  • Precise monitoring of the ramp-up of the activity (recruitment and training of teams)
  • Operational approach and implementation of efficient work procedures based on Lean methodologies

4. ASSESSMENT

As part of this mission, Rémi DESSERTINE agreed on a precise weekly follow-up with Arthur and the client. This mode of operation has made it possible to establish agile and effective communication between all parties. This allowed a great success in meeting the objectives of this mission, the criticality of which was largely based on meeting deadlines.
