Discover the example of an interim management mission carried out by WAYDEN, aimed at replacing a logistics director within a retail company.
Example of an interim management mission: the replacement of a logistics director for a retail company
WAYDEN was contacted by a French group specialising in the fashion trade. At the time, the group had a turnover of nearly €4 billion across all its 250 points of sale and its e-commerce site.
The mission was to replace the Logistics Director of one of the group’s warehouses. This warehouse had a team of up to 250 people during peak periods and delivered to nearly a hundred stores.
Alexandra Garnier, Associate Director at WAYDEN, organized a meeting with the client to introduce them to Jérôme Blanc, whose profile and background as Logistics Director seemed to perfectly match the know-how and interpersonal skills sought by the client.
With a career spanning more than 20 years As Retail and E-commerce Logistics Site Director, Jérôme Blanc has extensive experience in the fashion sector. He is also experienced in managing operational teams of more than 250 people. He has also been led to manage numerous transformation projects (turnaround with the start-up of factories and logistics warehouses, mergers and acquisitions, relocation, outsourcing, etc.).
During the mission, our interim manager Jérôme Blanc reported to the company’s Supply Chain Director. His role was to manage and lead logistics teams on operational issues and to support the site’s multiple projects, particularly those relating to the transfer of activity.
A monthly follow-up was carried out with Alexandra Garnier, Jérôme Blanc and the client. These regular tripartite exchanges have made it possible to maintain agile and close communication between all parties.
As a result , the objectives were met and social dialogue was preserved in the context of a project to transfer activity.
Why use interim management to replace a logistics director?
Relay management consists of replacing a director, a manager or another key employee who is absent or has left his or her position (retirement, sick leave, transfer, life accident, etc.) until his or her return or until a new employee is recruited.
The interim manager will intervene, for a period defined in advance, to ensure the continuity of the vacant position and to fulfill the duties of the absent employee. Thanks to his focused expertise, his long career and his numerous Human and managerial qualities (active listening, audacity, pragmatism, leadership, etc.), he will be able to carry out daily missions and manage strategic projects with the greatest operational excellence.
