In February 2021, WAYDEN obtained the LUCIE 26000 CSR label.

ISO 26000, on which the LUCIE standard is aligned, includes the principles of sustainable development tailored to companies and organizations.

Designing and following a Corporate Social Responsibility policy is a sustainable approach in itself. A project in which WAYDEN is a part.

In its CSR approach, WAYDEN complies with 7 themes, divided into 27 principles of action. In each of these principles of action, commitments are made that aim to improve our positioning and have an increasingly positive impact on the economy, the environment and people.

 

The carbon footprint

In line with this approach, WAYDEN wanted to measure its environmental impact and called on the company Sami.

Sami’s mission is to democratize the environmental commitment of companies and help them reduce their impact. Sami is there to raise their awareness, support them, act alongside them, and enhance their commitment. to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement that limit the negative effects of climate change, every action counts!

 

The first step in calculating the carbon footprint is the collection of information based on three main axes: data relating to the company’s purchases, data relating to employees and finally data relating to premises and digital consultations.

The results are a real carbon footprint of 162 tonnes of CO2e, which are distributed as follows:

Actions

For the second step of this approach, as a committed company, WAYDEN is acting on two major fronts:

  1. Measures to further reduce our carbon emissions
  2. Offsetting tonnes of CO2 emitted

Measures to reduce our carbon emissions:

  • Reducing the carbon content of our digital purchases

Key actions: promote the use of packaged goods, optimise the reception and sending of e-mails

  • Reducing the weight of our carbon emissions related to purchasing

Key actions: take out a green energy contract, develop a policy for the purchase of low-carbon office supplies

 

As our transport impact is already at its lowest, we have only one lever left to use at the employee level:

  • Reducing emissions related to their restoration

Key action: make employees aware of their way of eating for lunch (fewer deliveries, less packaging, fewer meat products, less snacking, etc.)

Offsetting the tonnes emitted

  • Financing a carbon reduction and/or sequestration project

Being sensitive to the forestry cause, we are committed to participating in the financing of a project labelled low carbon by the Ministry of Ecological Transition, for all of our tonnes emitted.
