1. BACKGROUND
The company is a subsidiary of a group whose parent company is located in Germany, near Frankfurt. The group has been developing, producing and distributing in vitro diagnostic reagents in clinical chemistry (enzymatic assays, colorimetry) and immunoturbidimetry for nearly 30 years worldwide.
The company is based in the Montpellier region. It is made up of a multidisciplinary team of about thirty people: electronics engineers, mechanical engineers, software developers, biotechnology engineers, production team.
In a context of full expansion, the company asked for an interim manager to support it in the development and production of medical analysis automatons. The objectives are:
- Fully automate enzymatic assays, immunoturbidimetric assays, and chemiluminescent immunoassays in in vitro diagnostics. These automatons are intended for hospitals and medical analysis laboratories.
- To support the R&D team towards industrialization, and to manage this transformation
2. DISPOSITION
In a context of replacement and reinforcement, the Finance and HR Director is looking for an Innovation and R&D Director to take over the management of the R&D activity and to support the team (20 people) towards industrialization.
It should be remembered that the position of R&D director does not exist. The R&D activity was in the lap of responsibility of the CEO who went on sick leave at the beginning of March.
The interim manager presented by WAYDEN is an expert in electronics and startup transformation management. He was able to convince the customer thanks to his skills in the automotive industry and connected equipment.
He has a hands-on personality and is very resilient, an essential quality for R&D project management and for leading a team towards another way of operating.
3. MISSION
The interim manager, a member of the Executive Committee, and in this central position of the organization, is responsible for carrying out projects from start to finish: from design to industrialization:
- Participate in the definition of the company’s strategy
- Oversee design studies and coordinate product development
- Design mechanical components and subassemblies containing electronic elements and firmware architecture
- Produce prototypes and ensure testing and validation.
- Lead and lead teams of local managers, technicians and engineers (about 20 employees)
- Manage the operating and investment budget of your perimeter
- Ensuring technological monitoring, checking the state of the art
