Identify the key success factors

People lie at the heart of change

As part of digital transformation, the managerial function and managerial methods are profoundly challenged: from a rather rigid and unilateral system based on the organisation and supervision of teams, the manager moves to a leadership model that requires them to “unlearn” their way of being and functioning at work. Management is now about detecting and retaining talent, and helping it grow by encouraging communication, teamwork and accountability. Managerial transformation is the condition for success, based on information sharing, explanation and persuasion. Managerial transformation ensures a more universal change of the company and guarantees employee commitment. The common goal is to build trust, accountability, enjoyment and well-being at work.

Include people in digitalisation

The inclusion of employees in the digitalisation process is important, but not everyone may be on board. You should be prepared for this, and ultimately look for solutions. To garner as much support as possible, it is essential to communicate as widely as possible. Digitalising your company does not just mean using software solutions: people must also be included in the process, too.

Include management

It is important that the head of the company or the board of directors be strongly involved and participate in the success of the project. They must inspire the will to change, even if it implies internal and external changes. The change is so deep-rooted that it must be unanimous. Management must adhere to it, and prove to employees that the change is resolutely underway.

Anticipate internal training

It is essential to communicate to employees the changes that will take place in the company, and employees must be involved in the company's digitalisation process. Most of the time, employees are not resistant to change, but the trouble starts when their habits are disrupted. Change management must therefore include all stakeholders: they will then be more relaxed and more easily involved in the project.
